Top Innovations, Young Professionals, and Live Performances – That's Prolight+Sound 2024

March 19th to 22nd, around 25,000 professionals from over 100 countries gathered at the Frankfurt Exhibition Center, where over 500 exhibitors showcased their top innovations and solutions in the German lighting and sound exhibition Prolight+Sound. Besides four outdoor stages and live performances, Prolight+Sound 2024 also featured exciting panel discussions, keynote speeches, and product demonstrations.

As a significant gathering place for the lighting and stage industry, Prolight+Sound brings decision-makers together in one location, a fact reflected in the numbers – 62% of professional attendees were managers, and 25% of visitors were under 25 years old. This indicates that the exhibition successfully attracts both decision-makers and the younger generation with its advanced formats.

"I am delighted that this year's exhibition not only combines technological innovation, knowledge transfer, and entertainment but also brings together many newcomers from the younger generation in the same space, thereby bridging the gap between the current state and the future of the event industry," said Wolfgang Marzin, CEO of Messe Frankfurt.

Various forms of knowledge dissemination took center stage at the exhibition, with impressive exhibitor presentations complemented by keynote speeches sharing knowledge and insights with interested audiences. These included award-winning creative director Geneviève Cleary, star lighting designer Mikki Kunttu, producer and DJ Gregor Tresher, record label executive Edgar Dirksen, guitarist Yasi Hofer, and artist Eileen Hall.

Under the framework of "Prolight+Sound College," three platforms provided bilingual seminars on industry-related topics – including "Camera College" (in cooperation with the Federal Association of Concert and Event Industry BVFK) and "ProAudio College" (in cooperation with the German Sound Engineers Association VDT). A series of expert lectures, seminars, and workshops also covered future-oriented topics such as artificial intelligence applications, immersive systems, and light materials.

The German Frankfurt Lighting and Sound Exhibition Prolight+Sound 2025 will be held again from April 8th to 11th next year. Besides innovative products and attractive concurrent events, the focus will also be on the 30th anniversary celebration.
